After September 11, 2001 it was the thoughts of his heroic friends from high school who served and died in Viet Nam and a prophetic English teacher Mr. Desimone proclaiming Steve’s ability to write poetry that inspired his first poem turned into a song, “These Colors Don’t Run”. The song became part of the world wide radio program “Operation Iraqi Freedom” and created the opportunity for his first grand scale performance, opening for Eric Burdon and The Animals at the world famous Coach House on New Year’s Eve 2002.

Steve has appeared on television, in movies, on stage, in musical productions, documentaries, and lends his time to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, military bases, VFW events, and Variety Club International. He has published a novel, “Healer”. Steve is currently available as a motivational speaker/entertainer focusing on the “Journey of Life, and Hope”.

Recently he formed Steve Petersen Productions Inc. a 501c3 non profit corporation dedicated to supporting the arts in our education system
focusing with this mission statement: “To provide the experience of creative expression and achievement through poetry, music, writing, dance, theater, and art.
